Have you wondered how to make a pipe?
I took some pictures at most of
the steps on a pipe I made early in 2006. I've broken this up into 4 different sections.

Drilling - The
stummel is drilled out on a lathe and a piece of bocote is shaped and fit
with a delrin mortise.

Shaping - The pipe
is rough shaped, the mortise dilled, and a piece of cumberland rod is cut,
drilled, fit, and shaped for the stem.

Finishing -
Staining and sanding and staining and sanding, etc. Followed by a
buff and polish.

Rusticating - A
rustication technique is described along with pictures of the process.
